Yellow Azalea

Finally, I got to attend the 2020 Creative Getaway at Bella Rakha Retreat, run by Michele Widdows. I have been going to this event for several years now and it is a very informal gathering of crafty friends, where we just get together and scrapbook, journal and chat. A lot of chat.

My crafting bestie, Carol, was not able to come last year due to an injury from falling off her bike, but she was back in full form this year. Here we are, enjoying our Saturday night.

I completed a few more pages in my lockdown junk journal.

Plus I managed to finish off my Week in the Life project from August.

Did a couple of pocket pages and a layout that was from a sketch provided to the group, and made lots of backgrounds for art journaling using my gelli plate. It is always great to have a weekend like this as it is really inspirational seeing everyone’s ideas and creative pursuits.

We had a Christmas theme on Saturday night, with a secret santa which created a lot of laughter as people tried to swap their gifts. I did end up with solvol soap, which is bound to come in useful looking at the state my hands get in when I am creating.

Back to reality now and unpacking the gear, never seems long enough, but I am very grateful for these breaks.
