Week 10’s featured artist was Clare Etheridge. Clare’s work was in a very different style to what I am comfortable with and although I followed along using her techniques, once I got towards the end where I was supposed to be sketching bugs, I changed direction and made it my own. What I learned from this lesson is that you can use all sorts of strips for collage, after spilling my distress ink and sopping it up with baby wipes, I used it as part of my background.
